The Nanaimo Arts Council is pleased to announce the winners of the 2015 Arts Achievements Awards, and would like to invite the community to join us in celebrating their accomplishments at the Awards Reception on Thursday, July 23rd at 4:00 pm in The Port Theatre Harmac Room (upper lobby).
The recipients hail from a variety of creative backgrounds including music, visual arts, creative writing, and dance and demonstrated a commitment to their practice and to furthering their education in their chosen fields.
2015 Arts Achievement Award Winners:
• Katrina Berg – Dance
• Ciro Di Ruocco – Visual Arts (ceramics)
• Elaine Felicia Lay – Creative Writing
• Eddy Martin Graham – Visual Arts
• Ethan Olynyk – Music (drums)
• Sarah Segal – Creative Writing
• Hans Verhoeven – Music (drums)
This is the seventeenth year that the Nanaimo Arts Council has been providing support to local artists to continue their education and they have awarded over $50,000 in that period. You are invited to join in the celebration of these inspiring individuals as they strive towards excellence. There will be music, snacks and refreshments
